Getting your content on Google Search is crucial for any business online. Having a website has become a must-have! Getting your potential customer to find your website can be a hassle. Figuring this out may sound like rocket science. If you’re reading this, you’re in the right place. We will take you through simple workable steps to follow to rank higher in search results. Get your content on Google Search.

Did you know Google Search is one of the world’s largest search engines, with over 35 trillion indexed web pages? Everyone is racing to appear on the first page of Google. How do you get there? Being on the first page makes it easy for your potential customer to find you. You get more traffic to your website as people are more likely to click. It’s a fact, no one wants to go looking on the second page.

You need to ask yourself a few questions. What is your potential customer looking for? What are they typing in the search bar? Let’s look at a few practical examples. You own a beauty shop in Osu, Ghana. You have a website and people are not finding you? Google may not recognize your website as a solution to your customer’s query. Here’s how to fix that. What will someone type on Google if they were looking to buy makeup? They will probably search for any of these, “Buy makeup in Ghana”, “Makeup stores in Ghana”, “Best makeup in Ghana”, “Where to buy beauty products in Ghana?”. With this information, we can move on to the next step.

Yoast SEO WordPress Plugin

On WordPress, the Yoast SEO plugin makes it easy for your site to meet the highest technical SEO standards. It also gives you the tools to bring your content to the highest standards of SEO and overall readability.

After you’ve completed your keyword study, you’ll need to begin optimizing your site’s pages and posts for the keywords and key phrases you want to rank for. In Yoast SEO, you can do this by creating a focus keyphrase for an article. The plugin then uses Yoast’s content SEO analyses to see how your content performs against various ranking factors, such as how many times you use your keyword, the length of your text, and whether you used any internal links.

The content SEO analysis tells you how to optimize your text for a certain keyword with the use of red, orange and green bullets.

The plugin will tell you how to optimize your post or page to rank for that keyword based on this analysis. And it does so by indicating how each factor scores with red, orange, and green bullets. This gives you a quick overview of your overall score as well as what you can do to improve your rankings! Now, to the final and most important step, telling Google who exactly you are.

The Yoast SEO plugin will also generate sitemaps for each of your website’s sections. This makes it easier for search engines to comprehend the structure of your website. It creates a sitemap index by combining all of the individual sitemaps. This means you only need to send the sitemap index link, which will be automatically updated as your content is added, removed, or changed.

Google Search Console

Google Search Console is a free Google service that allows you to track, maintain, and troubleshoot your site’s visibility in Google search results. You don’t need to sign up for Search Console to get your content on Google Search results, but it will help you better understand and improve how Google sees your site. The new Google Search Console and the old Google Webmaster Tools are the two editions of Google’s search console.

Go to Google Search Console and log in. Select your website from the sidebar. Select ‘Sitemaps’ from the drop-down menu. Under the ‘Index’ section, there is a menu called ‘Sitemaps.’ If you don’t see ‘Sitemaps,’ expand the section by clicking on ‘Index.’ Remove any sitemaps that are obsolete or invalid, such as sitemap.xml. Enter ‘sitemap_index.xml’ in the ‘Add a new sitemap’ field to complete the sitemap URL.

The sitemap should be processed as soon as possible. However, crawling the URLs listed in a sitemap will take some time, and it’s possible that not all URLs in a sitemap will be crawled, depending on the site’s size, activity, traffic, and other factors.

There are a variety of unconventional techniques for getting your content on Google’s first page. All you have to do is get a little imaginative and accept the fact that you may not always rank for the most popular terms. However, if you know where to look, you can find other techniques that produce similar results.

What tactics did you use to get on Google’s first page?
